Susan stood in her bed gown on the balcony from her and her husband's bedroom, examining the noon day scene in the courtyard directly below; humans and Narnians, working and living together. Peasants hustled to and fro, hassled by armed guards. Merchants and tradesmen peddled their goods, useless things really. And the craftspeople came out of their shops every so often, took a look around, and then hurried back inside to some waiting craft. A typical day in the castle of Caspian.

Turning away, Susan put her back against the thick stone railing and spread her arms out behind her, staring upward to the top of the tower and the bright sun behind it. She really wanted to go play in the fields with some of the Narnian children, or go visit her brothers; but she had been put under house arrest all day by the maids, so they could 'prepare' her for the feast that night; they would be knighting a centaur and eating in his honor. So far, this whole preparing business had been Susan sleeping in late and then sitting in her bedroom, doing absolutely nothing. She really hated getting all done up. All Susan really wanted was to be outside, exploring the greatness that was Narnia.

The wind and leaves whistled against his ears as he rode quickly onward with his favorite black war horse, Zapphire. He kept his great sword strapped to the horse, and got his bow at the ready. He had learned from his beautiful, intelligent wife Susan, how to use a bow recently. He mounted the arrow with the red feathers, and pulled back. There were some wild animals running wild in the forest, so he thought of just training there. A deer was just grazing in the grass, but its ears twitched as it heard Zapphire coming towards it at an alarming rate. Caspian aimed at the deer carefully and quickly relased a few more arrows at it. The deer finally fell onto the earth, breathlessly.

He felt a dark presence as he got nearer and nearer to the heart of the forest. It has been years and years since he had faced a greater challenge. Caspian tried to look ahead on, but he can't see anymore. He pulled onto the reins, and Zapphire broke into a hard stop, leaving a few marks on the earth.

"Maybe it's just me. I haven't been into these parts of the woods before," Caspian muttered under his breath.

He shook his head. What was he thinking? The previous dark forces that almost costed his death was a long time ago, would it be that it's back again? No, it can't be. His guts told him not to go on any further, so he turned around and went back to his castle. He almost forgotten. Tonight was the knighting of the centaur, and they'll be eating in his honor. Seems like he shall be the host of this dinner party. As Caspian was still in deep thought, Zapphire jump across a random cliff that wasn't there before. Luckily, good thing that Caspian took his best horse to train, or he won't ever see his castle again.

A smile creeped up on his handsome face as he hopped off of Zapphire. He missed his Susan, and he was very eager to show her how good he is now at ranging. He has trained all morning in the dark forest. Up the north tower, he nodded to the maids to let him into his bedroom where she was. He had his bow in his right hand, and stood next to her by the thick stone railing.

"Susan, my love, how have you been? Are we ready for this ceremony tonight?"

Susan had her face tilted up and her eyes closed, enjoying the sunshine, when she felt someone's presence next to her. She looked down and smiled at her husband.

"Hello darling," Susan greeted him, suppressing a yawn and letting go of the warm railing. She wrapped Caspian in a hug, leaving a light kiss on his cheek, before letting go and resuming her previous position. She had been so bored all morning, but now that he was here maybe her day would brighten a little bit.

"As ready as we'll ever be." Susan answered him with a soft sigh, keeping her smile on her lips. She really appreciated all the work their soldiers did, and she had no qualms with the ceremonial knighting; Susan just didn't understand why everyone couldn't show up in normal clothing.

"I see you've been practicing..." Susan commented, glancing down at the bow in Caspian's hands and then smiling back up at him. She had just taught him how to use one himself, and he had caught on very quickly; just one other thing that the couple had in common.

He embraced her hug, and also retruned the kiss. He breathed in the fresh air, listening in on the little children in the courtyard running around. He turned around, and leaned against the stone railings, in deep thought. Should he tell her about what happened in the forest? No, maybe not. It'll ruin her day probably. He decided to save the story for another day.

"Tell me, why are you under house arrest again? This is just ridiculous that they are keeping you hostage in here. You're a Queen. They aren't suppose to tell what queens do. This is a wonderful day to just go out and take a walk," Caspian said as he took off his vambraces.

"They think they have to keep me all day, just to fit me into a dress and do up my hair. I could do all that stuff by myself!" Susan explained, rolling her eyes. She would love to just be able to take of herself and not have to sit around all day; but to be honest, she was a little afraid of some of the older maids. It wasn't like they were mean or anything, but they were very loud and crazy and just overall intimidating. Even to Susan, the Queen.

"Well, maybe...if you could sneak me out past the ladies at the door, we could spend a little time together outside on the grounds." Susan suggested, glancing over at Caspian and grinning. Even the oldest, loudest maid would stand silent and still if the King escorted his Lady out of the room.

Caspian looked towards the door, then he laughed. The old maid? He was also scared of her too. He quickly thought up another plan.

"Say why don't we jump off of here to make it more exciting? They wouldn't notice if you kept your yap shut," he said, and his eyes wandered towards a very beautiful white dress hung on the mirror. Caspian was already measured and ready. He wondered why ladies take so long in a dressing room. Rumored that they have a party before coming into the main occassion. He turned around stood up on the railings, balancing himself, then he gave his free hand to help his wife up. On the next torrents was a gigantic eagle. It spread its wings as he was trained to catch whoever falls off the castle. The eagle eyed them suspiciously.

"So much for fun," King Caspian said smiling in the sun.

"Well..." Susan started, pondering the idea of actually jumping, but before she could finish a single thought, Caspian had already climbed up onto the railing. Susan looked worried for just a moment, but she got over that relatively quickly. She somehow always felt safe with Caspian, no matter what they were doing. Tip-toeing back into the bedroom really quick, Susan snatched the dress off of the mirror and wrapped it around her arm; she could get dressed by herself later.

Hurrying back outside, Susan took Caspian's hand and slowly steadied herself next to him on the balcony railing. She could not believe they were actually going to JUMP off the castle!

"Ready?" Susan asked, turning her head to look at her husband with a nervous grin. She held his hand tightly.

Caspian kissed Susan on the head before they jumped off the tower. He held onto her tight, and also praying that he they will survive this mad jump. Little kids from the courtyard noticed their King and Queen standing on the edge. A few pointed and screamed. The gigantic eagle lifted off as Caspian and Susan jumped off the castle finally. The wind was against his face, and his eyes started to water a bit. Where are you..., he thought. And finally, the eagle caught them on its back just on time. It flew just a few inches above the ripe green trees. They were heading towards the forest again. One of the last places he wanted to go, and it's going towards it... Oh well... Just hope that presence won't be there again. The flying colors of green started to get dark as the sun was turning its angle as four o'clock hits. The eagle then dived down and landed softly on the earth. He hopped off of it first, releaved that it was gone. He held his hands towards Susan to help her down.

Susan returned to Narnia by force, and despite the age difference mentally, she married Prince Caspian and they had a child of their own. Peter, who ended up getting called back by Aslan after a raid that even Aslan had not forseen, married a nurse that healed him after getting stabbed. Now years later, the four original Kings and Queens of Old have their own children who are to become the Kings and Queens of New. Aslan will follow them as they journey throughout Narnia, taking their parents' places in defeating the dark ones who stand in their path. With darker and more fierce enemies to come, will the Kings and Queens of New be able to defend their home? Whatever the price, it's all for Narnia.	We hope you enjoy your stay in Narnia!
